the best sushi I've ever eaten! The only thing is I wish it was better to sit down and eat like a restaurant instead because the vibe at the moment which is very take out oriented but I will definitely make this spot my go to for delicious sushi at a reasonable price without waiting for long!
Delicious, great food. A little pricey for students but the flavour definitely justifies it. I think this is one of the best Poke Bowls I’ve had on the east coast!
Walked by here on our way to another location and thought to give it a shot. All I can say is, the sashimi was gluten free and so was the rice and that itself was perfect. The food was so good I was in amazement. I’m only writing a review so I remember to go back!
Came here with my family. It was a really cute place !! I loved the sushi and everything else we ordered. It was all really fresh. We also got free spring rolls that were delicious 😋. If I visit Ottawa again, I'll for sure get some sushi again !
This cozy little sushi spot is family-owned and run by a lovely mother-daughter duo, which gives it such a personal and welcoming touch. The space is quite small, but it has a warm and comfortable vibe that makes you feel right at home. They also offer daily specials during the week, which is a nice bonus and shows they care about keeping things fresh and interesting. I tried both the Tuna Love and Salmon Love combos. Personally, the tuna didn’t impress me much — it lacked the same freshness and flavor that I was hoping for. The salmon, on the other hand, was absolutely fantastic — fresh, buttery, and perfectly cut. I’d honestly go back just for that combo alone. The gyoza was the only slight disappointment, as it tasted more like something cooked from frozen rather than made in-house. Still, that’s a small trade-off considering how great the salmon sushi was overall. If you’re looking for a warm, family-run sushi spot with quality salmon and friendly service, this place is a hidden gem worth checking out!
This is a nice little hole in the wall Sushil place. There is seating for about 9 people at most, but it's busy for take out. The service was friendly. The food arrived very quickly. The sushi ( dynamite roll) was very good. The avocado was perfectly ripe, the shrimp was deveined and perfectly cooked. But the rice was the best. It was soft and light feeling. I also had the fried squid. The rings were generous and you could tell it was fresh. It had a nice tempura coating. The squid was cooked to perfection. Not too soft, and not rubbery. The environment isn't fancy, but it's pleasant. It feels clean despite it being an older building that sees steady business.

They offer daily specials during the week, which is a nice touch. I tried both the Tuna Love and Salmon Love combos—wouldn’t recommend the tuna, but the salmon was absolutely amazing and worth coming back for. The gyoza tasted like they were cooked from frozen, not house-made, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, I’d definitely return just for that Salmon Love combo. Great little hidden gem if you’re in the mood for quality salmon sushi!
I adore sushi and the fact that I can eat most of it even with the Ménière’s, I adore it even more! I have my favorite place, although today… my favorite place was outranked by On Rice, a cozy family owned Korean & Japanese place in downtown Ottawa. Not only was the quality and price worth it but we also received a surprise “on the house ☺️” note accompanied with 4 delicious spring rolls. The sushi was so good we completely missed taking pictures. It was amazing and the spicy tuna was the most delicious I have ever had! Finally a true “spicy” tuna😍 Thank you On Rice for the treat! We will definitely be back soon.
